My name is Chelsea, and my favorite subjects in school are math and science. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy figure skating and soccer. I received an Honorable Mention in the 2026 Cambridge re:think Essay Competition and have won several gold medals with my team in synchronized skating competitions, including the Boston Synchro Classic and Colonial Classic Synchro.
Through ATWIN X-STEAM, I have developed a strong interest in marine biology because of my fascination with ocean life and marine animals. I enjoy exploring how science can help us better understand and protect the natural world.
1) What new perspectives have you gained from the program?
I learned a lot about coding and teaching through the program. One of the biggest lessons I learned was that teaching is not as easy as it seems. Sometimes something makes sense to you, but not to someone else, and you need to find different ways to explain it. This helped me become more patient and understanding.
2) What did you enjoy most from teaching your friends/family/peers?
One of my favorite parts of the program was seeing what others created. It was exciting to learn from my peers and see the many different ways people used math and coding to express their ideas.
3) Who inspired you the most throughout this program?
The teachers inspired me the most because they showed me how to teach different learners and encouraged me to become more confident and social when working with others.
4) What was your favorite creation? Why?
My favorite creation was the rainbow project. It was challenging to make, but seeing the final result made all the hard work worthwhile. The experience taught me that persistence and creativity often go hand in hand.
