In a world where bigger often seems better, a cool new trend is shaking things up—tiny homes! These small but mighty houses are popping up everywhere, especially in cities where space is tight. They’re simple, eco-friendly, and budget-friendly, making them a smart choice for many people.
In this unit, students will explore the housing challenges communities face and dive into the tiny home movement. Then, working in teams, they’ll act as designers and consultants, chatting with “clients” to learn what kind of tiny home fits their needs, budgets, and style. Using math skills like measurement and geometry, students will design a floor plan and build a model of their very own tiny home.
Finally, they’ll get to showcase their creativity and presentation skills by sharing their tiny home designs with their clients and classmates. It’s a hands-on way to learn, create, and think big—while living small!
