Lesson 4: Managing and Editing Audio Settings in DaVinci Resolve:
The final part of the editing process will be to manage and edit the audio settings in your video. You will not need to add background music to this introductory video, and the university bumper video has incorporated audio. This editing step aims to ensure your video’s audio is clear and polished for your audience.
Steps to Managing and Editing Audio Settings in DaVinci Resolve:
1. Navigate to the Audio Section and switch to the Fairlight tab, DaVinci Resolve’s dedicated audio workspace, for more advanced audio editing.
2. Adjust Audio Levels: In the Timeline, locate the audio waveform under the video track. Select the audio clip to adjust and use the Inspector on the right to adjust the volume. Alternatively, you can adjust the volume directly on the clip by dragging the horizontal white line (volume level) up or down.
3. Apply Audio Effects: You will apply basic effects and only need to change these if you feel the sound is unclear. To add basic effects:
Basic Effects (Edit Tab):
Open the Inspector and adjust parameters like pitch, pan, and equalization.
4. Noise Reduction and Cleanup: Add the Noise Reduction effect from Audio FX and adjust parameters to reduce background noise or hum.
5. Final Mix and Levels: Use the Mixer Panel in the Fairlight Tab to balance audio levels for all tracks and use Loudness Metering to ensure audio stays within standard ranges for clarity.
