Lesson 1: Moving Media Assets to DaVinci Timeline for Editing
To begin the editing process in DaVinci Resolve, we will enhance your video using the various media assets you have imported into DaVinci Resolve’s media pool. These include your university video bumper and introductory video. Find your media assets in the media pool panel in DaVinci Resolve.

Timeline Click and Drag Steps:
1. Click and drag your introductory video after the video bumper to the Timeline.
2. Before placing it in the Timeline, drag the red play head to the end of the bumper video.
3. Click and drag your introductory video and place it after the bumper video.
4. Adjust the length as necessary by trimming the footage. Use the blade tool to split clips if needed (shortcut: B or find the blade icon at the top of the Timeline) if any trimming is necessary. (shortcut: A goes back to display mode or click the arrow at the top of the Timeline)
5. To delete a clip, select the clip in the Timeline and hit the backspace key, but make sure to fill in the gap between clips, select the empty space and click the backspace key again, or hit the delete key to complete both steps at once.

Next, you will move the university video bumper and your introductory video to the timeline panel. You will click and drag your video bumper file into the timeline panel, which is the area in DaVinci Resolve where all imported assets are stored. The bumper will appear at the beginning of your video and act as a quick introduction; this should be placed first on the Timeline, ensuring it is the first element in your video; your introductory video will be placed after the bumper video to make it the last element of your video. To watch how to complete this step, view the video below, which starts at the 12:30 time mark and ends at the 19:33 time mark. This will help you with this process and help you understand how to adjust the view of timeline footage.
