When in doubt, ask!
Know that the metadata records can be edited and re-saved, so don’t be afraid of “making a mistake”.
The name of the game is consistency. We want our tags to be as standardized and consistent as possible so that it’s easy to not only organize the resources on the library, but so our library users can easily find those resources!
As you move from Introductory level skills into Advanced level skills Cataloging/ Metadata Tagging, we highly recommend a quick-overview research-dive into the country or region where your library users reside, so you can cater to your patrons' information needs.
(Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britannica are good places to start your research.)
Our French, Spanish, and Arabic language collections should include metadata tags in both English and that language.
An example of what this looks like can be found under "Language of Resource" section of this guide.
