CPT APPLICATION GUIDELINES AND PROCESSES

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a type of work authorization that allows F-1 international students to engage in paid and unpaid employment during their degree program. CPT is academic in nature and must be related to specific courses and the knowledge and skills gained in those courses.

 STEPS FOR CPT APPLICATION PROCESS

Please Follow The Step By Step Process

Click on each step and read the instructions carefully.

Must read Renege Policy.

Make sure you are logged into your ASU Google account or incognito in Chrome

Do not proceed to step 5 until you receive the email with the Completed and approved SCAI Graduate Internship application (from Step 3 - CPT APPLICATION) that has been signed by all parties.

You may register for these courses at will, but you should only do so if you are certain you will be doing an internship.

Approval to pursue an internship in a specific semester is granted via the Adobe Sign Internship Request process. Requests to add or drop CEN/CSE/DSE/IEE/SER 584 after the posted add/drop or tuition refund deadlines will NOT be approved.

Once you receive the email with the completed SCAI CPT Application you can initiate the ISSC CPT I-20 e-Form.

Until you have final approval from ISSC, you cannot start working or assume that your authorization for CPT has been granted.

All students are required to submit a report at the conclusion of their internship.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please follow all the step by step, and refer to the FAQs for further doubts.
