Beginning of class: Flip the attendance card from the home side to the school side, and make your lunch choice by moving your magnetic number to the appropriate column, if needed make your way to the teacher to get your pencil sharpened, and finally take out your daily folder and put your behavior card on your clipboard.
Getting attention: The teacher will ring the bell one time for stop look and listen or use call and response chants
Lineup: I start by doing a chant and response song to let them know where they are going (T-"Hey class", S-"Hey what?", T-"Are you ready?", S-"For what", T- "To go", S-"To go where?", T-"To go to _______", S-"Yes!", T-"Door-holder, door-holder come line up, Line leaders line leaders come line up"), then they line up in number order.
Bathroom/Water: Students will go one at a time and sign out at the classroom log, then put up their bathroom number in the bathroom pocket chart.
Noise Level: Use a voice level poster where the close pin gets moved to the appropriate voice level, or no talking boards (for example if the teacher or student has to talk they write on a small whiteboard to each other when the noise level is at 0).
Pencils: Students can only get their pencil sharpened in the morning, and the rest of the day if they need a sharpened pencil they will trade in their dull pencil for a sharpened one at the pencil station.
