H5P Case Studies 

At the University of South Australia, randomized trials using H5P in psychology courses showed that students engaged with interactive videos reported greater satisfaction and stronger perceptions of learning than those using static materials (Jacob & Centofanti, 2023).

Organizations use H5P branching scenarios to simulate workplace decisions, such as compliance training and customer service. Faculty at Michigan State University (MSU) also noted its usefulness for gamified quizzes and multimedia-rich assignments across disciplines such as nursing and business (Sun et al., 2024).

H5P can be applied in agribusiness education to create interactive crop calendars, pest identification exercises, or financial decision-making scenarios. For example, Agrodemy learners use drag-and-drop activities to classify diseased vs. healthy crops, or complete a branching scenario that simulates marketing choices for farm products. This prepares learners for real-world decision-making in agricultural entrepreneurship.

In a U.S. middle school science program, teachers integrated H5P’s “Course Presentation” and “Interactive Video” tools to deliver lessons on ecosystems and energy transfer. Students could pause videos to answer embedded quiz questions, drag and drop organisms into food chains, and explore interactive diagrams of habitats. A pilot study found that students who used H5P demonstrated higher retention and enthusiasm for science compared to those using traditional worksheets. Teachers also reported that H5P helped differentiate instruction by providing immediate feedback and multiple paths for learners to engage with the material 

Human resources departments have adopted H5P to make onboarding and staff training more engaging. For instance, a healthcare organization used H5P branching scenarios in its HR compliance modules, where new employees had to make decisions in realistic patient-care dilemmas. This interactive approach was found to improve knowledge retention and reduce repeat training requests compared to static policy manuals. HR managers also leveraged H5P’s interactive quizzes to test employee understanding of workplace policies, while providing instant feedback to reinforce learning. Such use cases demonstrate how H5P not only conveys information but also fosters decision-making and accountability within professional environments .

In community-based literacy programs in sub-Saharan Africa, NGOs have used H5P to design interactive storybooks and vocabulary quizzes accessible on mobile phones. Learners could listen to audio versions of stories, answer comprehension questions, and practice spelling through drag-and-drop activities. This approach helped address low literacy rates by combining culturally relevant content with accessible interactivity. Field reports indicated improved learner engagement, particularly among women and children who previously had limited access to formal education. The flexibility of H5P’s mobile compatibility made it especially valuable in areas with limited infrastructure, allowing NGOs to scale programs at low cost
