University commencement is the university-wide celebration at which degrees are conferred upon graduating students by the president of Arizona State University.
What you need to know:
RSVP is required - You will be prompted to do so after completing the 1st step (see Start Here - First Step)
Tickets are not required
Clear bag policy - Graduation venues are enforcing the clear bag policy. No large purses, bags or backpacks will be allowed into the building by anyone. All items that would be carried in a bag must be carried in a clear bag. Click here for more information on the policy.
Bachelor's recognition - Graduates are recognized by college and stand as a group to be presented prior to degree conferral.
Master's recognition - Graduates are not individually recognized, but are hooded in groups by a Marshal of Investiture.
Doctoral recognition - Graduates will be hooded by a faculty mentor and will have their names called before crossing the stage.
Programs - The Office of University Ceremonies has transitioned to providing student graduates with a digital commencement program. Individual names will no longer be listed in printed programs.
Parking - There are multiple locations for you and your guests to park on the Tempe campus (see the following map for details).
Accommodations for special needs - ADA
Desert Financial Arena, Sun Devil Stadium and Gammage are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act for guests with limited mobility. In the Desert Financial Arena, seating is reserved on the upper concourse for those in wheelchairs or for those who have limited mobility. Students in wheelchairs will be assisted up and down the ramps of the platform. Please be sure to indicate when you RSVP that you and/or your guests need special accommodations.
