Objective: The student will be able to export a video from DaVinci Resolve, upload the video to a YouTube channel, and embed a YouTube video into a Canvas course page.
In your final lesson, you will review how to export the video you made and upload it to YouTube. You will also learn how to embed the video into Canvas using a YouTube embed code. Watch the video before submitting your final result using the assignment tool.
Exporting Your Video [01:00]:
Export and upload course intro video into YouTube & Embed Video into Canvas
In order to render your video, click "File" in the top left of the Editor Page in DaVinci Resolve
Select "Quick Export"
Preset export locations will now appear on the screen
Click the "YouTube" option
On the right side of the rendering options, the YouTube sign-in page will appear
Sign in to your YouTube account
Click "Manage Account"
Enter your YouTube account's username
Enter your YouTube account's password
Click "Sign In"
Click "Export" on the bottom right (your video will automatically upload to the YouTube account you just signed into through DaVinci Resolve)
Save your video to your computer
Once you have clicked "Export" a save option will appear on your screen
Select the desired location on your computer to save your video
Embedding In Canvas [05:22]:
Embed YouTube Video into Canvas Shell
Go to YouTube's website and log in.
Go to https://www.youtube.com/
Click on the person icon in the upper right corner
Click "Sign In" and use the same username and password for the YouTube account connected with DaVinci Resolve)
Locate the Introduction video you wish to upload to Canvas
Click on "Dashboard"
Click on the title of the video you wish to embed
Under the video on the right, click the "Share" option
Click "Embed"
Another screen will pop up with an embed code.
Click the "Copy" link to copy the embed code.
Open Canvas in a new browser tab
Login to your Canvas account
Select the correct Canvas Shell for the course you wish to upload your intro video for
Locate the Introduction Page
Once you are at the page, Click "Edit" to add information to the page
A text box will appear
Click on the video icon at the beginning of the second row above the text box (the icon is a small box with a side triangle inside)
An "Insert/Edit Media" box will appear
Click "Embed"
Paste the YouTube embed code into the text box
Click "OK"
Click "Save"
The video should now appear on the Canvas page
Instructions to Upload Your Assignment:
After reviewing the content for each module and finishing the corresponding tasks, you should have a Canvas page with your edited "talking head" video integrated. Please use the assignment upload tool to paste a link to your Canvas home page.
