Selection Accentは、Webページで文字を選択したときの背景色と文字色を、ユーザーが選択した配色へ変更するChrome拡張機能です。
本プライバシーポリシーでは、Selection Accentが取り扱う情報、その利用目的、保存場所、Chrome同期、多言語表示、第三者提供、削除方法および安全管理について説明します。

Selection Accentは、機能の提供に必要な範囲で設定情報を取り扱います。
次の情報をchrome.storage.localへ保存します。

これらの情報は、Selection Accentの設定を保持し、Webページへ選択色を適用するために使用します。
Selection Accentでは、色と外観設定のChrome同期が初期状態でオンになっています。
同期がオンの場合、次の設定をchrome.storage.syncで同期します。

同じGoogleアカウントでChrome同期を利用しているChrome間で、これらの設定が共有される場合があります。
ユーザーは、Selection Accentの設定画面からChrome間の設定同期をいつでもオフにできます。
ユーザーが特定のサイトでSelection Accentを無効にした場合、そのサイトのオリジンを端末内へ保存します。
オリジンとは、通常、通信方式、ホスト名、および必要な場合はポート番号の組み合わせです。
例：
サイト別無効化のために保存したオリジンは、chrome.storage.localだけに保存します。

Selection Accent v0.3.1は、日本語と英語のUIに対応しています。
Selection Accent独自の言語設定は使用せず、Chrome標準の国際化機能を使用して、Chromeの表示言語に応じてUIの表示言語を決定します。
対応していない言語環境では、既定言語として英語を使用します。
日本語・英語の翻訳データは、Selection Accentの拡張機能パッケージ内に同梱されています。
翻訳のために次の処理は行いません。
外部翻訳APIへの通信
翻訳サービスへの文字列送信
外部サーバーからの翻訳データ取得
CDNからの翻訳データ取得
リモート設定による翻訳変更
Selection Accentは、独自の言語選択機能を提供していません。
そのため、Selection Accent独自の言語設定、言語選択履歴、言語設定用ユーザーIDなどをchrome.storage.localまたはchrome.storage.syncへ保存しません。
多言語対応によって、新しいユーザーデータの収集、保存、同期または外部送信は追加されません。

Selection Accentは、選択された文章そのものではなく、文字選択時の表示方法だけを変更します。
Selection Accentが取り扱う設定情報は、次の目的だけに使用します。
ユーザーが選択した色を保存するため
Webページへ選択背景色と文字色を適用するため
ライトモードとダークモードを切り替えるため
背景色に応じて文字色を調整するため
サイト単位の有効・無効設定を適用するため
複数のChrome環境間で色と外観設定を同期するため
設定の破損を防ぎ、安全な既定値へ正規化するため
拡張機能の正常な動作を維持するため
これらの情報を、広告、マーケティング、信用評価、プロファイリング、データ販売などの目的には使用しません。
Chrome間の色と外観設定の同期は、初期状態でオンです。
Chrome同期が利用可能な場合、Selection AccentはChrome標準のchrome.storage.syncを使用します。
Selection Accentは、Googleアカウントのメールアドレス、氏名、アカウントID、プロフィール情報を取得しません。
Selection Accentの開発者は、Chrome同期に保存されたユーザー設定を閲覧できません。
次の情報はChrome間で同期しません。

同期をオフにした場合、現在の色と外観設定は端末内に維持されます。
同期をオフにしても、色設定が自動的に初期値へ戻ることはありません。
同期をオフにした後は、別の端末で変更された設定をその端末へ適用しません。
ただし、同期をオフにする操作だけでは、Chrome同期領域へすでに保存されている設定を削除しません。
Chrome同期が無効、一時停止、オフラインまたは利用できない場合でも、Selection Accentは端末内の設定を使用して動作を継続します。
オフライン時の変更は端末内へ保存され、Chrome側で同期が再開された場合には、Chrome標準の仕組みに従って同期されることがあります。
Selection Accentの開発者は、ユーザーの情報を広告、行動ターゲティング、マーケティング、データ分析、信用評価、融資判断、データ仲介またはユーザープロファイル作成の目的で第三者へ販売、貸与または提供しません。
Chrome間の設定同期がオンの場合、同期対象となる色と外観設定は、Google Chromeの同期基盤によって処理されます。
これはSelection Accentの開発者が管理するサーバーへの送信ではありません。開発者は、GoogleのChrome同期基盤へ保存されたユーザー設定を直接閲覧または取得できません。
Selection Accentは、開発者が管理するサーバーを使用しません。

Chrome標準の設定同期を除き、Selection Accentが設定情報を外部へ送信する処理はありません。
storage権限は、次の目的で使用します。

多言語表示のために追加のChrome権限は使用しません。
Selection Accentは、通常のWebページへ文字選択用のCSSを適用するため、<all_urls>のホスト権限を使用します。
この権限は、次の目的に限定して使用します。
通常のWebページで選択背景色と文字色を変更すること
対応するiframeへ選択色を適用すること
サイト別の有効・無効状態を判定すること
設定変更を開いているページへ反映すること
ホスト権限を、ページ本文、選択文字列、フォーム入力、Cookie、認証情報を収集する目的では使用しません。
多言語表示の追加によってホスト権限の利用目的は変更されません。
端末内の設定は、ユーザーによる変更・リセット、サイト別無効化の解除、Selection Accentの削除、またはChromeの拡張機能データ削除などが行われるまで保存されます。
Chrome同期へ保存された色と外観設定は、別設定による上書き、ユーザーによるChrome同期データ削除、GoogleアカウントまたはChrome側の同期設定変更、その他Chrome側の保存方針に従って保持または削除される場合があります。
Selection Accent内で同期をオフにしただけでは、すでにChrome同期へ保存されている設定は削除されません。
Selection Accentの設定画面から、選択背景色、選択文字色、外観モード、文字色の自動調整、サイト別無効化、Chrome間の設定同期などを変更できます。
端末内に保存された設定は、設定のリセット、サイト別無効化の解除、またはSelection Accentの削除によって削除または初期化できます。
Chrome同期へ保存された情報は、ChromeまたはGoogleアカウントの同期設定に従って管理されます。
Selection Accentの開発者は、ユーザーのChrome同期領域へアクセスできないため、開発者側で個別の同期データを閲覧または削除することはできません。
Selection Accentは、取り扱う情報を必要最小限に限定します。
安全性を確保するため、次の対策を採用しています。

Selection Accentは、Webページ内の文字選択表示を変更するため、Webページ側のJavaScriptまたはCSSから、次の情報が推測される可能性があります。

適用されている選択文字色
珍しいカスタムカラーを複数端末で同期して使用した場合、その色の組み合わせがブラウザを識別する補助情報として利用される可能性があります。
v0.3.1の多言語対応によって、Selection Accent独自の言語設定や新しい言語識別情報をWebページへ公開する処理は追加されていません。
この技術的制約によって、Webページが次の情報へアクセスできるようになるものではありません。

Selection Accent is a Chrome extension that changes the background color and text color displayed when text is selected on a web page to a color scheme chosen by the user.
This Privacy Policy explains the information handled by Selection Accent, the purposes for which it is used, where it is stored, Chrome Sync, multilingual display, sharing with third parties, deletion methods, and security measures.
The single purpose of Selection Accent is to change the background color and text color displayed when text is selected on a web page in order to make selected text easier to see.
The following features are provided to achieve or support this single purpose:
Changing the selection background color and selected text color
Support for Light, Dark, and System appearance modes
Automatic adjustment of text color based on the background color
Preset colors and custom colors
Enabling or disabling the extension globally
Enabling or disabling the extension on a per-site basis
Synchronizing color and appearance settings across Chrome installations
Japanese and English user interfaces
Selection Accent handles only the settings information necessary to provide its features.
The following information is stored in chrome.storage.local:

This information is used to retain Selection Accent settings and apply selection colors to web pages.
Chrome Sync for color and appearance settings is enabled by default in Selection Accent.
When synchronization is enabled, the following settings are synchronized using chrome.storage.sync:
Accent color
Selection color application mode
Light, Dark, and System appearance mode
Automatic text color adjustment mode
Custom background color for Light mode
Custom background color for Dark mode

These settings may be shared between Chrome installations that use Chrome Sync with the same Google Account.
Users can turn off synchronization across Chrome installations at any time from the Selection Accent settings page.
If a user disables Selection Accent for a specific site, the origin of that site is stored locally on the device.
An origin generally consists of the scheme, hostname, and, where applicable, port number.
Example:
Origins stored for per-site disable settings are stored only in chrome.storage.local.
Selection Accent does not:
Synchronize per-site disable information across Chrome installations
Record every site visited by the user
Create a list of visited sites as browsing history
Send this information to a server operated by the developer
Use this information for advertising or analytics
Selection Accent v0.3.1 supports Japanese and English user interfaces.
Selection Accent does not use its own language preference setting. Instead, it uses Chrome's standard internationalization functionality to determine the interface language based on Chrome's display language.
For unsupported language environments, English is used as the default language.
Japanese and English translation data is bundled locally within the Selection Accent extension package.
Selection Accent does not perform any of the following for translation purposes:
Communicate with external translation APIs
Send strings to translation services
Retrieve translation data from external servers
Retrieve translation data from a CDN
Modify translations through remote configuration
Selection Accent does not provide its own language selection feature.
Accordingly, Selection Accent does not store its own language setting, language selection history, language-related user ID, or similar information in chrome.storage.local or chrome.storage.sync.
Multilingual support does not introduce any new collection, storage, synchronization, or external transmission of user data.
Selection Accent does not collect, store, synchronize, or send the following information to the developer:

Selection Accent changes only the visual presentation of text selection. It does not access the selected text itself.
The settings information handled by Selection Accent is used only for the following purposes:
Saving colors selected by the user
Applying selection background and text colors to web pages
Switching between Light and Dark modes
Adjusting text color according to the background color
Applying per-site enabled or disabled settings
Synchronizing color and appearance settings across multiple Chrome environments
Preventing corrupted settings and normalizing invalid settings to safe default values
Maintaining the normal operation of the extension
This information is not used for advertising, marketing, credit assessment, profiling, data sales, or similar purposes.
Synchronization of color and appearance settings across Chrome installations is enabled by default.
When Chrome Sync is available, Selection Accent uses Chrome's standard chrome.storage.sync mechanism.
Selection Accent does not obtain a user's Google Account email address, name, account ID, or profile information.
The developer of Selection Accent cannot view user settings stored through Chrome Sync.
The following information is not synchronized across Chrome installations:

Global enabled or disabled state of the extension
Enabled or disabled state of the Chrome synchronization feature itself

When synchronization is turned off, the current color and appearance settings remain stored locally on the device.
Turning synchronization off does not automatically reset color settings to their default values.
After synchronization is turned off, settings changed on another device will not be applied to the current device.
However, turning synchronization off by itself does not delete settings that have already been stored in Chrome's synchronization storage.
If Chrome Sync is disabled, paused, offline, or otherwise unavailable, Selection Accent continues to operate using locally stored settings.
Changes made while offline are stored locally and may be synchronized later in accordance with Chrome's standard synchronization behavior when Chrome Sync becomes available again.
The developer of Selection Accent does not sell, rent, or provide user information to third parties for advertising, behavioral targeting, marketing, data analytics, credit assessment, lending decisions, data brokerage, or user profiling.
When synchronization across Chrome installations is enabled, the synchronized color and appearance settings are processed through Google Chrome's synchronization infrastructure.
This is not transmission to a server operated by the developer of Selection Accent. The developer cannot directly view or retrieve user settings stored in Google's Chrome synchronization infrastructure.
Selection Accent does not use servers operated by its developer.

Except for Chrome's standard settings synchronization mechanism, Selection Accent does not transmit settings information externally.
The storage permission is used for the following purposes:
Storing color and appearance settings
Storing the global enabled state of the extension
Storing per-site disable settings
Synchronizing color and appearance settings across Chrome installations
Storing the enabled or disabled state of the synchronization feature
No additional Chrome permissions are used for multilingual display.
Selection Accent uses the <all_urls> host permission to apply text selection CSS to ordinary web pages.
This permission is used only for the following purposes:
Changing the selection background color and selected text color on ordinary web pages
Applying selection colors to supported iframes
Determining whether Selection Accent is enabled or disabled for a specific site
Applying setting changes to currently open pages
Host permissions are not used to collect page content, selected text, form input, cookies, or authentication information.
The addition of multilingual display does not change how host permissions are used.
Settings stored locally on the device remain stored until they are changed or reset by the user, per-site disable settings are removed, Selection Accent is uninstalled, Chrome extension data is deleted, or another relevant deletion action occurs.
Color and appearance settings stored through Chrome Sync may be retained or deleted when they are overwritten by other settings, the user deletes Chrome synchronization data, Google Account or Chrome synchronization settings are changed, or according to other Chrome-side retention policies.
Turning off synchronization within Selection Accent alone does not delete settings that have already been stored in Chrome's synchronization storage.
Users can change selection background colors, selected text colors, appearance modes, automatic text color adjustment, per-site disable settings, synchronization across Chrome installations, and other settings from the Selection Accent settings page.
Locally stored settings can be deleted or reset by resetting settings, removing per-site disable settings, or uninstalling Selection Accent.
Information stored through Chrome Sync is managed according to Chrome or Google Account synchronization settings.
Because the developer of Selection Accent cannot access a user's Chrome Sync storage, the developer cannot individually view or delete synchronized data on the user's behalf.
Selection Accent limits the information it handles to the minimum necessary for its functionality.
The following measures are used to help protect information:
Restricting synchronized fields through a fixed allowlist
Excluding per-site disable information from synchronization
Rejecting invalid color values and undefined settings
Preventing unvalidated synchronization data from being used directly in CSS
Limiting synchronization data size
Preventing duplicate writes of identical data
Preventing infinite synchronization loops
Preserving local settings when synchronization fails
Bundling translation data locally within the extension package
Not executing translated strings as HTML
Not using external translation services
Not using remote code
Not using servers operated by the developer
Because Selection Accent changes the appearance of text selection within web pages, JavaScript or CSS running on a web page may be able to infer the following:
That a non-default selection color is being applied
That Selection Accent or a similar feature may be enabled
The applied selection background color
The applied selected text color
If unusual custom colors are synchronized and used across multiple devices, the combination of those colors may potentially be used as an additional signal for browser identification.
The multilingual support added in v0.3.1 does not introduce any process that exposes Selection Accent-specific language settings or new language-identification information to web pages.
This technical limitation does not allow web pages to access:
The contents of chrome.storage.local or chrome.storage.sync
Text selected by the user
Web page content
Form input
Cookies
Google Account information
Users who wish to avoid this effect on a particular site can use Selection Accent's per-site disable feature.
Selection Accent does not display advertisements, use personalized advertising, perform behavioral targeting, conduct access analytics or usage analytics, track users, sell data, provide data to data brokers, or use information for credit assessment.
Selection Accent's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and Limited Use requirements.
Selection Accent uses the information it handles only within the scope of its disclosed single purpose and the functionality necessary to provide that purpose.
Selection Accent does not use or transfer user information for advertising, data sales, credit assessment, or similar purposes.
The use of information obtained from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements.
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Selection Accent's functionality, data handling practices, supported languages, Chrome Web Store requirements, or applicable laws and regulations change.
If an important change is made, users may be notified through the Chrome Web Store listing, the Selection Accent settings page, release notes, updates to this Privacy Policy, or other appropriate methods.
The updated Privacy Policy will state the latest revision date.
