Wenhaston's Project
Wenhaston's Project
Wenhaston realised that if children don't start eating vegetables young they won't want to when they are older so in order to make vegetables more appealing they decided to make their own cook book. This way the children would be more involved in what they are eating and have more knowledge of all the different food varieties.
They have also decided to add a recipe section to their school website further adding to the awareness of the recipes along with holding an assembly about it where the parents are invited. As well as asking the students they also asked the local community for ideas for recipes to further engage the community.
Wenhaston found this important as it will help the students eat healthier and change to better habits for the environment such as reducing food waste and food miles.
You can hear from the students leading the project themselves:
They also made leaflets and posters about the recipes along with organising a community lunch.
