Stutton's Project
Stutton wanted to sort out the amount of rubbish and food waste they have at school. They didn’t do any composting or any recycling at the beginning of the project and wanted everybody to know how important it is. To fix this they wanted to buy compost and recycling bins as well as making sure that food waste from lunchtime is used for compost for the vegetable beds and rubbish to be recycled as much as possible.
They were also planning that if there was any extra compost that they could sell it to the local community including parents in an attempt to encourage recycling at home.
Stutton found this important as they wasted a lot of food at school and didn’t recycle at lunchtimes which they felt they needed to change. The bins acted as a way of making students more visually aware of recycling making them more likely to do it.

They also held an assembly for children, staff and our families, as well as creating
posters and leaflets and sending home letters.
