The Personal Project @ ASOY

Your Online Guide

What is the Personal Project?

It is an independent research project that gives you the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills you have acquired over the five year IB Middle years programme.

It is a product of your own initiative and should reflect your experience of the MYP.

You will be engaged in rigorous inquiry, research and action in order to achieve a goal of your own design.

(Driven by the International Baccalaureate philosophy).

Its an excellent opportunity for you to produce a truly creative piece of work of your choice and to demonstrate the Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills that you have learned across your study years in the MYP.

If you choose the right PP, it will give you the opportunity to share with others something that is of great interest to you as an individual and show some of what you have learned as a result of being in the MYP.

It consists of a process, a product and a report.

Language report is written in.

A new feature to the 2021 guide is that you may be able to report your personal project in your preferred language, as long as:

  • there is a staff member who is fluent in the same language and who can supervise you

  • ASOY can meaningfully internally standardise your report by having other staff members also fluent to help grade your report.
