Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2025/2026 school year at the American School of Bilbao! My name is Jasmine Zugarramurdi, and I am delighted to serve as the PYP Coordinator this year. Over the past few weeks, our students have filled the school with excitement, sharing their summer adventures and demonstrating a love of learning. We can’t wait to see them grow this school year!

To help orient you to some of the organizational aspects of Lower School:

For any questions or concerns regarding your student’s day-to-day learning, please feel free to contact their homeroom teacher. They will be happy to discuss your student’s progress or address any questions you may have.

The Lower School Principal, Borja de Arana, oversees the overall operation of the lower school, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. Any broader concerns about school policies or programs can be directed to him and Irene Senda, Interim Director.

As PYP Coordinator, I support teachers and ensure the Primary Years Programme is effectively delivered, while also serving as a contact for parents with questions about the curriculum.

Here you can find information about Back to School Night. You are invited to visit the BTSN tab to view presentations and informational videos covering the topics that will be discussed.

Back-to-School Night Information - 

• Date & Time: Tuesday, September 23rd, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

• BTSN Tab: Please find your student’s grade, which includes the Back-to-School Night presentations and specialist videos.

• Arrival: Please arrive promptly at 7:00 p.m., if possible, as presentations will begin shortly afterward. Upon arrival, please head to your student’s homeroom teacher classroom, who will review your student’s learning for the year.

• Specialists: Specialists will rotate into the classroom to answer any questions you may have about their subject areas from their videos.
