Policies

Visiting the Library:    

The AHS library has multiple teaching and computer areas.  Students may come to the library from study hall by signing up on a library list with their study teacher first.  The number of study students permitted in the library depends on how many studies take place that period, and what classes are in the library.  This number may occasionally be reduced to provide scheduled library classes with an environment that is more conducive to teaching and learning.

Borrowing Materials:

• • Students may borrow books for 3 weeks.

  • Items can be renewed if there are no holds.

  • Reference books and periodicals can only be used in the library.

Computer Use:

There are multiple computer areas in the library, which students are welcome to use throughout the day.  However, as the number of computers are limited, computer use has to be prioritized according to the following list:

• • Scheduled library classes

  • Virtual High School (VHS) students

  • Study students

Students should:

• • Use the computers and Internet following the Acceptable Use Policy.

  • Use the computers for school work.

  • The computers should not be used for games, chatting, etc.
