This curriculum comes with fifteen correcting sexist language worksheets. These worksheets give students about ten sexist sentences. They have to explain why each sentence is sexist and rewrite it to be more gender-fair. It is recommended that students complete these worksheets with a previous knowledge of sexist language, but they can also be used as tools to help students learn for the first time. These worksheets help to boost students’ writing and editing skills.
There are five worksheets for elementary students, five for middle schoolers, and five for high school students. They can be used as bellringers, as warm-ups to writing lessons, even as an activity that will provide just a little bit of a break for teachers. These worksheets are designed for individual students, but they can also be used to encourage collaboration and discussion between students. The goal of this section is to provide students the skills to correct sexist language once they graduate into the real world. This is perhaps the most essential section of the entire curriculum.
