AK-033
The AFJROTC mission statement is "developing citizens of character," and we strive to do so every day by instilling integrity, passion, leadership skills, and a commitment to the community in our cadets.
AK-033 strives to do the best for our community. We seek out community service opportunities such as color guards, the Honor Flight, and food drives. We take any opportunity to help our people!
LDR activities include archery, riflery, robotics, drill, aerospace/rocketry, color guards, drone lessons, and saber arches! We do many of these as classroom activities, and offer opportunities outside the classroom as well.
Every year we hold a week long joint leadership course with our sister schools South and Eagle River. Time and time again, students go into camp and come out better cadets and leaders.
See more information in Annual Events.
During competition season, our drill cadets wake up early every morning to practice before school. They perform for trophies and state championship performances in unarmed, color guard, armed, and exhibition drill.
In addition to serving the local community, we are dedicated to building our own. We strive to be a place that welcomes and builds up cadets in a safe, friendly environment, and offers a wide variety of amazing opportunities.
Through our CIA trips, we bring cadets out of the school to get more involved in the curriculum. These trips include tours of military aircrafts or structures, and activities such as our Bataan Death March memorial hike or our biennial trip to Hawaii.
With our Vex robotics equipment, flight simulators, and drones, we are able to attend elementary STEM events and help spread the word about how cool STEM and AFJROTC are!
It wouldn't be AK-033 without the fun! We participate with other schools in events like WACKO games, Military balls, and our own corps parties!
JROTC is not "high school basic training". There is no obligation to join the military, and we are not trying to get people to join the military. We teach military customs and courtesies, we are partly funded by the Department of Defense, and joining JROTC will benefit cadets who plan to join the military. But we are not a military or recruiting program. Our main goal is to build better citizens and leaders.
Fostering amazing groups of cadets since 1968
I am an Air Force Junior ROTC Cadet.
I am connected and faithful to every corps of cadets who serve their community and nation with patriotism.
I will uphold the core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.
I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, school, corps of cadets, community, and to myself.
My character defines me. I will not lie, cheat, or steal. I am accountable for my actions and deeds.
I will hold others accountable for their actions as well.
I will honor those I serve with, those who have gone before me, and those who will come after me.
I am a patriot, a leader, and a wingman devoted to those I follow, serve, and lead.
I am an Air Force Junior ROTC cadet.
