Social Emotional Learning teaches to effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
The SAHS Peer Mentorship program is the byproduct of SEL. With support from the Nova sponsored SEL grant, mentors created a community space for students.

How we know it works
During every Freshman Visit mentors perform a survey, in order to get feedback on how mentors are doing and their thoughts on Peer Mentorship.
