Peer Mentorship

Outreach

"The Adventure Course Committee’s work is focused around mentor training and specialized out-of-class activities with freshmen. Within the class, we organize group discussions about how to become better mentors, train our fellow mentors on how to engage their freshmen through games and activities, and collaborate with other schools on solutions to various issues. We also build, train, and upkeep our team building courses that the class uses at the beginning of the year for all freshmen, and for specific groups that could benefit from more one-on-one mentoring. We also organize events with our feeder elementary schools who are interested in what South can offer them. We’re a group of motivated students who love hands-on experiences and working on bettering our class through conflict resolution," - Mason Wayt
