We made apple dumplings in 1st and 2nd block! Students learned to read and follow a recipe, how to make a grocery list by looking at a recipe, and how to try new foods (for some of us)!
The first thing we had to do was peel the apples. The girls got to use a vegetable peeler to do this for us!
Next, we got to learn to use an apple slicer!
Don't worry, we talked about safety before using!
After talking about where we would find the crescent rolls, we go them out and opened the cans.
Then rolled the dough out and broke them into triangles.
Our next step was go roll one apple slice into each crescent roll.
And then put our dumplings into our baking dish!
Next was the yummy part...after melting butter in the microwave, we mixed it with brown sugar and cinnamon...
And then pour that mixture all over the dumplings!
The last step was to pour a can of lemon lime soda over everything.
After 35-45 minutes at 350, they came out bubbly, warm, and tasted delicious!
