This week in Math, we talked about SIMILAR and CONGRUENT shapes. After reading a book and discussing how we each are unique and have to do our part to create the whole class, each student got a small piece of a puzzle. Students wrote their names on their piece, and then decorated the piece however they wanted to.
The next step was to create a SIMILAR puzzle piece using a bigger puzzle piece. The pieces are similar because they are the SAME SHAPE, but NOT the same size. Students decorated their bigger piece the same way they decorated their small piece.
The last part of the project was their "Puzzle Piece Presentation". Students got up in front of the classroom, spoke clearly and loudly, and told the class about their pieces.
Our students all did a GREAT JOB on this project, and it will be used to proudly decorate the front wall of Room 316!
