What's Happening in Class:

MATH/Science/SS- Mrs. Bay & Mrs. Oller

Math

We finished Topic 1! We did well on this topic. Please know if your child scored below a 70% they can re-test. Just sign your child's test and send it back! This week, we will begin Topic 2 - Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers. This is a tough topic and a lot of number sense is used to get your child to truly understand why you add and regroup some numbers and not others. Please support your child as best you can at home with his/her homework. Students will have Math Homework on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. We have settled into a good routine in math and busy working hard to make math fun!

Social Studies

This week in social studies we are finishing up learning about a map and all the items on the map. We will learn about Christopher Columbus as well as landforms this week. On Friday, we will take a social studies test. Your child will bring home their social studies notebook to study vocabulary words on Thursday.
