GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

ABOUT

Global Citizenship supports the work of civil society organizations with regard to their global connections, in order to potentiate cosmopolitan perspectives in the search for human rights. Since May 2015, when it started its activities, Global Citizenship has developed activities in partnership with non-governmental organizations, groups, and national and international social movements, through research on global agendas, support for the implementation of activities, and support in the preparation of projects and resource-raising. The team has also dedicated itself to mapping civil society organizations in the region, with the purpose of getting to know the local realities better and contributing to the strengthening of these initiatives.

GOALS

METHODOLOGY

The approach adopted is the creation of a space that works in a way similar to non-governmental organization , based on strengthening horizontal structure and collaboration, in order to promote the development of a relational autonomy between the global citizen’s members. Regarding external relations, it focuses on promotion of dialogue with groups and entities from organized civil society, with active listening that, together with the study of  presented schedules, allows elaborate strategies to strengthen performance of partner organizations.

GLOBAL FORUM

ABOUT

The project focuses on humanity's most important Security Issues, especially the active ongoing conflicts, the in-depth study for an ever more complete understanding of the context, the situation itself and its reflections on the local and international scene, and finally, presentation of objective strategies for resolution of these same conflicts.

METHODOLOGY

Guided studies and dialogues within the group to broaden the horizons of vision and to refine academically and professionally, both the knowledge built in class and collectively, and the strategies for responding to and resolving conflicts.

INTERNATIONALIZE

Paradiplomacy and International Cooperation

COORDINATOR: Gustavo Rocha

ABOUT

The project seeks to expand the opportunities for professional practice in the public area, besides preparing the students to work in the public area and develop international culture in Caruaru.

GOALS

METHODOLOGY

Leveling up with students on paradiplomacy and technical cooperation. Develop international technical cooperation projects in partnership with the municipality, insert students in these projects.

LIKE
COORDINATOR: Lucas Galindo

ABOUT

The original name of the Project is the central idea of the following phrases: "The world LIKE a home, humanity LIKE a family". The Project is dedicated to the articulation and realization of initiatives of social action and humanitarian service, mainly by the students of the Bachelor Degree in International Relations of the University Community substantiated by Centro Universitário Tabosa de Almeida ASCES-UNITA. The goal of the project is the enhancement of awareness regarding the complex connections between local and global realities as well as the cultural and professional enrichment of our students and, finally, to promote social responsibility and the construction of a better and more united world.

METHODOLOGY

The project is developed through weekly meetings where all the planning steps are executed: contacts with active partners, scanning and contacting potential partners, insertion planning, strategic planning, and decisions about the various referrals related to selection, destinations and consular protocols, updating social media, permanent revisions of the agreements' texts, etc.

NE PROSPECT

COORDINATOR: Robson Góes

ABOUT

The project provides students with opportunities to understand macroeconomic issues and economic politics that reflect on the internal and external market conditions. They can thus analyze and verify the existence of business opportunities, windows opportunity, between markets.

GOALS

METHODOLOGY

Group study, debates and presentation of basic macroeconomic theory. Then, each student adopts a country to work with and apply the macro analysis tools. Presentation of your country's macro information. After this, the student searches the COMEX sites for data on the balance of trade of the country, in order to verify its trade flow and current trade. Finally, by calculating the indexes, it is verified whether or not there are trade opportunities in the country.

IR ON THE ROAD

ABOUT

Promotion of the International Relations course widespread at Centro Universitário Tabosa de Almeida (ASCES-UNITA) through social media, visits at high schools and events made by its own institution, using also the Desbrava Mundo game.

GOALS

METHODOLOGY

Organization of Desbrava Mundo game; discussion and task divisions; setting objectives and deadlines for the actions; and what more the group thinks is necessary for the task progression.

SOCIAL PROJECT

COORDINATOR: Nivaldo Inojosa

ABOUT

The project purpose follows the students in all the process which involves the realization of actions, activities, and involvement in many social realities, especially concerning the challenges that underprivileged people in society face, showing to the laboratory’s participants the complete cycle of social projects, from the problems identification, search of possible solutions for those, through elaboration, management, monitoring, evaluation and social projects’ accountability with the purpose to show the necessary steps for fund-raising needed  to realization of the same.

METHODOLOGY

Theory and practice classes about the theme. PowerPoint utilization, videos and other media presentations. Individual activities and in groups. Visit the organizations that act in social area projects in the region.

BASIC TRANSLATION TECHNIQUES

ABOUT

To study techniques that help us translate texts of neo Latin languages to Portuguese. 


*In 2021.2, the project was responsible for translating the official website of Caruaru turism to English and Spanish languages, in a partnership with the Secretariat of Economic Development, Tourism and Creative Economy (SEDETEC).


GOALS


METHODOLOGY

Through weekly meetings, work with tools in order to improve the translation practice in tandem with original material translation. The project can be executed in a hybrid form, depending on external and internal demands.
