design thinking and technology understanding

Available in: 1st Grade through 5th Grade

Description:

At ASA, we view students as digital natives who are learning to use technology in a relevant and authentic way to enhance their learning, knowledge, and understanding. We foster positive and responsible digital citizens who learn to use technology to enhance global connectivity. Technology is used innovatively throughout students’ learning experiences to create unique learning opportunities, and is integrated with classroom lessons and units to ensure that students’ understand its real-world application. Students will learn skills to not only use today’s digital tools, but also prepare them to use tools they will encounter in the future.

The Elementary Maker Space promotes individual agency and gives students the opportunity to use the design process to identify real world problems, create their own solutions, and problem solve through constructing hands on creations. The Elementary Maker Space has a variety of tool and materials for students to take their concepts from their imaginations to physical objects that they have planned, designed and created.

In both Technology and the Elementary Makers Space, ASA’s goal is to develop learners that use technology and design as a tool to empower themselves as learners and global citizens.
