Parental Engagement

Strathburn School has an active Parent Engagement Group which meets regularly throughout the year.

The Parent Council provides a forum for issues relating to the pupils education to be discussed and is made up of Parents, Staff and local council representatives.

Over the years we have achieved a lot to help fundraise for and support the school through discos, bingo nights, a football fayre, book fayre, spinathon, science festival, Christmas raffle and shopping nights.  We have also worked with the school to improve safety around the car park and improve the communication on our work in the school.

The Fundraising Group holds a variety of fund-raising events which are always well attended and enable the school to purchase items such as interactive whiteboards to enhance the pupils learning experience.

Fundraising events have not only got the children and parents involved but also raised money for the school, which have provided -

• Nursery equipment

• Workshops, pantomimes, Christmas parties

• Sports equipment

• Access to online training

• Football/Basketball kits

• A class set of ipads

• Outdoor play equipment
