ICT Policies
This page contains information about policies relating to the use of computer based technologies here at Mackie Academy. Parents / Carers should watch 2 videos and complete 2 acceptance forms online. The videos and forms relate to:
Media permissions - students either taking part in online video meetings or being photographed as part of school activities;
Responsible Use - conditions under which student use of computer technologies in school is deemed acceptable.
Parents/carers with more than one child at Mackie will need to complete the forms for each child.
Section 1. - Media permissions -Parents/carers to accept using online Form1
Media Permission IT in Aberdeenshire Schools.mp4Learning and teaching in a modern school makes frequent use of digital technologies. In some cases students may be photographed or filmed as part of the activities carried out in school.
Parents/carers are asked to watch the video and then complete the agreement form to indicate your acceptance of the statements made in the video.
Please note that you are required to enter your child's Scottish Candidate Number (SCN). A video has been produced to show how they can obtain this via Glow.
Section 2. - Responsible use of ICT - Parents/carers to accept using the online Form2
AUP for IT in Aberdeenshire Schools-with AI (1).mp4Mackie provides access to a large amount of Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) hardware and software. The video shown on this page outlines the rules that students must follow when they are using ICT systems in school.
Parents/carers should watch this video and discuss the contents of it with their child. Parents/carers should sign this form to indicate their acceptance of the rules laid out in this video.
Please note that you are required to enter your child's Scottish Candidate Number (SCN). A video has been produced to show how they can obtain this via Glow.
Students acknowledge their acceptance of this policy by completing a separate form inside Glow. If not already done this can be done by completing this form.

To a large extent phones should be switched off and placed in school bags during lesson times unless instructed otherwise by the classroom teacher.
