At Kemnay Academy, we encourage the positive use of digital technologies to enhance learning and teaching.
Wi-Fi
Kemnay Academy has Wi-Fi available for pupils, staff, parents, and visitors to use.
An acceptable use policy is signed by pupils as part of their induction pack when they join Kemnay Academy.
There are several iPads and Chromebooks located in faculties for pupils to use, but if pupils would like to bring in their own device to support their learning, then the Wi-Fi will allow them to access learning and teaching resources online.
The Wi-Fi is available to support learning and teaching so therefore has strict filtering applied by Aberdeenshire council. This prevents any inappropriate material being access by Wi-Fi users but also means that all social media platforms are blocked.
Commonly Used Apps to Support Learning
Below is a list of some commonly used apps that would be beneficial to have downloaded onto pupils phones/tablets.

If you feel your child would benefit from a device through the Connecting Scotland Initiative, please get in touch via your child’s guidance teacher.
