Artists have created a distinct trajectory of imagination by promptly responding to the contemporary condition, linking it to their individual inner concerns of themselves and articulating it in their works. Life and art of today are facing ontological and epistemological challenges triggered by the unprecedentedly rapid and diverse development of media technology. It requires not only the invention of new forms of art but also the need to reflect on their effects in practice keenly. Art Collider Lab of the Center for Art Convergence at the Korea National University of Art seeks to keep up with the changing landscape of our time and cultivate a discourse-based platform by employing new technological media, then wishes to be a learning community for the artists of tomorrow.
Art Collider Lab is going to explore the agenda for the next two years. Under this topic, we will examine and study the forms and roles of art that contemplate the ways of engaging with others newly arriving from the post-human environment that has been already affecting us. And in commemoration of the 7th anniversary of the Lab, we opened a brand-new archive page that presents our studies up to this day. We would like your interest and participation in the trajectory of the past and future that Art Collider Lab continues to create.
Art Collider Lab of the Center for Art Convergence will support all Korea National University of Art members in advancing the new field of art and developing a mature consciousness as an artist.
We hope many young artists can come together here to study and create.
