若きブラームスが30代前半に書いたチェロソナタ第1番は、激情と葛藤に満ちたエネルギッシュな作品であり、彼の創作の初期段階を象徴します。
晩年に作曲されたクラリネットソナタ第1番とクラリネットトリオは、豊かな人生経験を経た成熟した表現が光り、深い内省と静謐な哀愁が漂います。
異なる時期のブラームスの作品は、チェロやクラリネットという人間の声を思わせる楽器の特性を活かし、豊かな旋律表現と対話性を追求する室内楽の世界を生み出しています。
岩井美子、斉藤静香、クリスチャン・プロスケを迎える本プログラムは、ブラームスの若き情熱から成熟の深淵へ至る内的変遷を辿る、魅力あふれる旅路となることでしょう。
Johannes Brahms’s Cello Sonata No. 1, composed in his early thirties, stands as a powerful testament to youthful passion and inner turmoil, marking a pivotal chapter in his creative evolution. In contrast, his Clarinet Sonata No. 1 and Clarinet Trio, crafted in his later years, radiate with the profound maturity and reflective depth shaped by a lifetime of experience, evoking a serene yet poignant introspection.
Across these works from distinct periods, Brahms masterfully exploits the cello and clarinet—both instruments closely akin to the human voice—to weave intimate chamber music narratives defined by rich melodic expression and nuanced dialogue.
In this program, pianist Yoshiko Iwai, clarinetist Shizuka Saito, and cellist Christian Proske bring these masterpieces to life, guiding the audience on an evocative journey through Brahms’s inner landscape, tracing the arc from fervent youth to contemplative maturity.

岩井美子（ピアノ）
名古屋市に生まれ、幼少時を愛知県と兵庫県で過ごす。内藤せい子、近藤千代子、杉浦日出夫、内田聆子の各氏に師事。東京芸術大学附属音楽高校並びに東京芸術大学にて学び、第５２回日本音楽コンクール、ピアノ部門第２位入賞。小林仁、井口秋子両氏に師事。東京芸術大学を首席で卒業後、ドイツ国立デトモルト音楽大学にて、フリードリッヒ＝ヴィルヘルム・シュヌーア氏に学ぶ。ドイツ国家演奏家試験に最高点で合格。第３回ヨーロッパショパンコンクール第２位、メンデルスゾーンコンクール（ベルリン）第1位、クララ・ハスキル国際ピアノコンクール入賞、そしてゲザ・アンダ国際ピアノコンクールにて第２位に入賞。さらにジョージ・シェベック氏のマスターコースにて研鑽を積む。これまでに、ヨーロッパ及び日本各地でオーケストラとの共演やリサイタルを行い、その卓越したテクニックと美しい音色で聴衆を魅了している。また豊富な室内楽レパートリーを誇り、数多くの著名な音楽家との共演、多数のテレビ・ラジオ出演、コンクール審査員、CD録音などを行っており、いずれも高い評価を得ている。現在、スイス、チューリッヒ在住。チューリッヒ芸術大学にて後進の指導に当たっている。Click for English profile
YOSHIKO IWAI
was born in Nagoya, Japan. At the age of 13 she won the West Japan Youth Music Competition. She studied with Prof. Hitoshi Kobayashi at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Tokyo Geijutsu Daigaku). During this time she won 2nd prize at the 52nd Japanese National Music Competition.
In 1987 Yoshiko Iwai moved to Germany to further her studies with Prof. Friedrich Wilhelm Schnurr at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold and graduated in 1993 with highest honour (Konzertexamen). She also participated in masterclasses held by Prof. Gyorgy Sebok. From 1993 to 1996 she taught at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold.
Yoshiko Iwai has been awarded many major prizes at international music competitions. She was a finalist in the 14th Clara Haskil Competition (Vevey, Switzerland), received second prize an numerous awards at the 3rd European Chopin Piano Competition Darmstadt 1989 and won first prize (Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Prize) at the Mendelssohn Competition Berlin 1991. In addition she won second prize at the International Geza Anda Competition (Zürich, Switzerland 1994).
She recorded several CDs (Mozart piano pieces, Clara Schumann piano works and Paul Juon chamber music etc.) and participated in numerous broadcasting-productions.
Yoshiko Iwai lives in Zürich and performes frequently in Japan, Switzerland and many other European countries as a soloist and chamber musician.
Since 2000 she teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste).
齋藤静香 クラリネット
鹿児島市生まれ。10歳でクラリネットを始め、長瀬義人氏に師事。鹿児島県立鶴丸高校を経て国立鹿児島大学教育学部音楽科卒業、石井調、池田博幸の各氏に師事。第29~35回南日本新聞社主催音楽コンクール優秀賞受賞。MBCユース・オーケストラ、鹿児島ウインドアンサンブル、鹿児島交響楽団にて活動。ドイツ国立デトモルト音楽大学にて、ハンス=ディートリッヒ・クラウス氏、並びに前・教授のヨースト・ミヒャエルス氏に師事。ディプロマ取得後、ドイツ国家演奏家試験に最高点で合格。在学中、学内ではピアノのフリードリヒ=ヴィルヘルム・シュヌアー氏、ヴィオラの今井信子氏等、また各種講習会にて、ベルリンフィル・コンサートマスターのトーマス・ブランディス氏等に室内学の薫陶を受ける。ヴュルテンベルク室内オーケストラ、北西ドイツフィルハーモニー、室内オーケスト『opus7 』を始め多数のオーケストラに出演、また現代音楽アンサンブル『ホリゾンテ』、室内オーケストラ『opus7 』、デトモルト管楽八重奏団などを含む室内楽活動に携わる。現在、ハーメルン市立音楽学校勤務、ドイツ・デトモルト在住。Click for English profile
Shizuka Saito Clarinet
Born in Kagoshima City, Shizuka Saito began studying clarinet at the age of 10 under Yoshito Nagase. After graduating from Kagoshima Prefectural Tsurumaru High School, she went on to the Department of Music in the Faculty of Education at Kagoshima University, where she studied under Osamu Ishii and Hiroyuki Ikeda. While in Kagoshima, she performed with the MBC Youth Orchestra, Kagoshima Wind Ensemble, and Kagoshima Symphony Orchestra. She won the Excellence Prize at the 29th~35th Minami-Nihon Shimbun Music Contest.
And then, after graduation she moved to Germany to study at the Detmold University of Music in Germany with Hans-Dietrich Krauss and former professor Joost Michaels. After receiving her diploma, she passed the German State Performers' Examination with the highest score. During her studies, she studied with Mr. Friedrich-Wilhelm Schnuerr on the piano, Ms. Nobuko Imai on the viola as well as at various workshops with Berlin Philharmonic concertmaster Thomas Brandeis and others.
She has performed with the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, the Northwest German Philharmonic, the “opus7" chamber orchestra, and many other orchestras. She was also a member of the contemporary music ensemble “Horizonte”, the chamber orchestra “opus7”, and the Detmold Wind Octet.

クリスティアン・プロスケ（チェロ）
ドイツ・デュイスブルク生れ。オランダ、マーストリヒト音楽院にてラドゥ・アルドゥレスク氏に、ドイツ国立デトモルト音楽大学にてカリーネ・ゲオルギアン氏に師事。またアメリカ、ニュージャージー並びにニューヨークに於て、ベルナード・グリーンハウス、ハーヴェイ・シャピロの両氏に師事し、グリーンハウス氏の助手も務める。
在学中、ドイツ音大コンクール、デュオ部門第１位入賞、アメリカでは、ラトガース・コンチェルトコンペティション、サウスオレンジ・アーティストコンペティションに於てそれぞれ優勝。デトモルト音大におけるドイツ国家演奏家試験に最高点で合格。さらに、アレクサンダー・ヴェチトモフ、ダヴィッド・ゲリンガス両氏のマスターコース、メニューイン・アカデミー（スイス）、シュレスヴィッヒ・ホルシュタイン音楽祭（ドイツ）、サラソタ音楽祭（アメリカ）、ヴィクトリア音楽祭（カナダ）などに参加する。
１９９４年よりスイス、チューリッヒ・トーンハレ管弦楽団チェロ奏者。１９９８年よりチェロ副首席奏者を務める傍ら、ソロ、室内楽の両面に於て活躍。さらに、チューリッヒ芸術大学で教鞭を執る他、様々なユースオーケストラで後進の指導にもあたっている。Click for English Profile
Christian Proske, Cello
was born in Duisburg, Germany. Studied with Radu Aldulescu at the Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherlands and with Karine Georgian at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany. He also studied with Bernard Greenhouse and Harvey Shapiro in New Jersey and New York, USA, and worked as an assistant to Mr. Greenhouse.
During his studies, he won first prize in the duo section of the German Music University Competition 1990, and in the USA, first prize in the Rutgers Concerto Competition and the South Orange Artists' Competition 1992. He graduated at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold with the highest marks (Konzertexamen) in 1994. Further participation in master courses with Alexander Vectomov and David Geringas, at the Menuhin Academy (Switzerland), the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (Germany), the Sarasota Music Festival (USA) and the Victoria Music Festival (Canada).
Christian Proske is co-principal cellist in the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, Switzerland since 1994 and has been active in both solo and chamber music. In addition he teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts since 2006 and is a regular director of rehearsals for various youth orchestras since many years.
Always on the "look out" for new cello repertoire and working together with the Kunzelmann Edition, he has transcribed for cello and piano Maurice Ravels "Sonate posthumous".
