Staff Spotlight!
My name is Barbara Gandy.I grew up in Harlingen TX, then attended Milligan College in Johnson City, TN. I earned my MEd. from UNCC. After teaching middle school for eleven years, I went into administration as an assistant principal at Parkview Elementary in Mooresville, then becoming the principal. I also served as the principal of the Lower Campus at Union Academy Charter School in Monroe. I am in my 8th year at ARS, helping students in various grade levels and am now teaching 1st grade. I live on ten acres in the country with my husband and three dogs. I have two sons, a daughter-in-law and a precious 3-year-old grandson. Hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with my family. One of the best decisions I have ever made was walking into Mr. Duffey's office during the summer of 2017 and asking if he needed any subs. Every day is special here.

I’m Lauren Beach and I teach Kindergarten. I’m from Statesville and actually attended ARS when they first opened! I taught Pre-K for 10 years before teaching Kindergarten. I have a beautiful family consisting of my husband and my two daughters. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and crafting.
