What's Nod? It is a cool extension for Google Meet that adds emojis and a raise hand feature (top-left). This helps give non-verbal clues.. If you install the Nod extension, you have to leave to Google Meet session and then go back in for it to start working. You don't need to click on the extension to get it to work.
Do students need to download the Nod and Grid extensions for Google Meet? It should be automatically installed for all students and staff, but only applicable if they are using Google Chrome on a desktop/laptop and are signed into their ARPS account. They should not have to since the district pushed this extension to all students; however, these extensions do not work on mobile devices.
Is it better to use Google Chrome for Google Meet. Yes, Chrome works best for all Google Apps

As the host, I see that I can click to remove a student from a Meet (for example, if they can participate in an acceptable manner). However, they can easily re-join the meeting. There is no (current) way to prevent them from rejoining. If a student keeps doing inappropriate things, please contact your technology teacher or IS to have their account disabled.
I am sharing my screen. I want to be able to see the slides I am showing to the class AND see the faces of all the students who are participating. How do I do this? You can't. If you share your screen, they will see what you see. The only work around I can think of is to share your whole screen then move the Meet to one side and the slides to the other side, but then they will see what you see too - the slides would be too small.
