In this unit students will gain an understanding of the importance of water to humans, its unique properties and why it is referred to as the ‘universal solvent’. Students will investigate the properties of aqueous and non aqueous solutions and the factors that affect the solubility of substances. Students will analyse the sources and impacts of water pollution and the economic and social issues relating to water.
