Photon torpedoes to blast the atoms and molecules

XUV-NIR LAB

We have a femtosecond Ti:Sa laser system and OPA setup, to produce extreme ultraviolet (XUV) attosecond pulse trains and study electron dynamics with tunable near-infrared (NIR) laser fields. Our main experimental schemes are velocity map imaging and attosecond transient absorption to investigate coupled electron-nuclear dynamics in molecules and materials, coherence in electronic processes, and light-induced control of electron dynamics.

SXR-MIR LAB

We are in the midst of new soft-x-ray (SXR) attosecond spectroscopy project, centered around a state-of-the-art high-power mid-infrared (MIR) OPCPA laser system and multifunctional soft-x-ray beam lines. This project is focussed on the development and application of a next generation soft-x-ray attosecond pump-probe set up to study correlated quantum dynamics in molecules and materials.
