I know I lot of you like to use "Rate my Professor" and while that is not inherently bad, I do want to encourage caution when using that resource. I use the following analogy to illustrate my point:
If you go to a restaurant and have an amazing experience - everything was cooked perfectly, brought to the table on time, the waitress/waiter was attentive, etc. - are you going to write a positive review about your experience? Perhaps, right?
If you go to a restaurant and have an okay experience - nothing spectacular, but nothing bad - are you going to write a positive review? Probably not, right?
If you go to a restaurant and have a terrible experience - the food was terrible, brought to the table cold, the waitress/waiter kept ignoring you, etc. - are you going to write a negative review about your experience? Probably, right?
It's the same thing with "Rate my Professor" - most students will only write a review if their experience in that course was terrible - and even then, it was probably related to their poor grade and nothing the professor did! Or maybe. All I say is take "Rate my Professor" with a grain of salt and know that all reviews are going to skew towards bad.
All of you should utilize, at the end of each semester, the course survey - that information is available! You can access it here: https://scsonline.oia.arizona.edu/index.php
