Volunteers Needed!!!

We are excited to announce that the Neuroscience Department will be hosting a Backyard Brains Outreach Program in Science City at the upcoming Tucson Festival of Books on March 14th and 15th, and we are looking for 10-12 enthusiastic volunteers to help out during the event!

Backyard Brains has a number of small amplifiers that can be utilized for live Neuroscience demos, including extracellular recordings, EEGs EKGs, and EMGs.  For more information about the Backyard Brains, please visit their website: https://backyardbrains.com/

Volunteer Details:

• Training: All volunteers must be available for a mandatory training session on February 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

• Festival Commitment: Volunteers will need to be available to work from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM for at least one full day of the festival (March 14th or 15th). Note: you will not work the whole day but in blocks of 3 hours, on either Saturday or Sunday.
