Welcome Back to School!
I hope everyone had a great summer and are in high spirits as we begin a new academic year at Archbold Area Schools.
The safety and security of our students and employees continue to be a top priority. A major project that was completed this summer is the installation of internal and external security cameras at all buildings. Even better, the funding for this project was 100% obtained through grants, meaning no general funds were used. This project is a great addition to the other security measures that have been implemented over the past several years and others that will be finalized throughout the year.
As you return to our campuses, you will notice the buildings in pristine condition thanks to our dedicated maintenance, custodial, and grounds staff. In addition to the general “summer cleaning”, the following updates were completed over the summer:
Blue Streak Drive, AHS East, and AHS West parking lots were crack filled and sealed
The AHS & AES faculty parking lot was milled and resurfaced
Two AHS restrooms in the main hallways were completely upgraded
The AMS parking lot received some minor repairs and was crack filled and sealed
Due to manufacturer delays, we are still waiting for the unit that will complete the HVAC project in the AHS gymnasium. The delivery of the unit has been delayed several times, but we hope to have it up and running very soon. This will complete the HVAC upgrade that utilized ESSER funds to improve air quality in the gym and other areas throughout the district.
Archbold Schools have the privilege of welcoming a couple of new staff members to our district.
Please review the Staff Updates within the online newsletter to find out additional information about the new staff members at Archbold Area Schools. We are excited about these new additions joining an already excellent team.
Our dedicated team of educators has been hard at work, preparing engaging and inspiring lessons that continue to prepare our students for their future. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking, empowering each student to reach their full potential. Furthermore, we encourage every student to actively participate in the various school events, activities, and sports teams that are available to them at their respective grade levels. These opportunities not only help develop skills and talents but provide a better educational experience that will build lasting friendships and memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Parents and guardians, your partnership with us is invaluable. Your involvement in your child’s education has a profound impact on their success. Should you ever need anything from our staff, please contact your child’s teacher, building principal, or the central office.
Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of educating your children. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on August 23rd. I hope you have a great school year and Go Bluestreaks!
