Taking college courses while in high school is a great way for students to get a head start on their future! Students can earn college credits, potentially save money on future college tuition, and experience college-level coursework while still receiving support from their high school. Our school pays for up to 18 college credits, giving students the opportunity to earn valuable credits at no cost to their families. In addition to saving money, college courses help students build confidence, strengthen time-management skills, and explore their interests before graduation. We encourage students and families to take advantage of this opportunity as they plan for the future!
Check out the AHS Course Description Guide to find college courses taught by our teachers. In addition, our students have access to college courses and academies at CVTC and Western.
CVTC Academies and Courses - High School Academies are designed to meet high school needs with broad goals of offering program exploration, a recognized industry credential, an embedded technical diploma, or an associate degree program. Courses are reserved for high school students, taught by CVTC faculty at their high school, a CVTC host site, or a CVTC campus.
Western Academies and Courses - Students can earn college credits while exploring careers in healthcare, manufacturing, teaching, and more! Each school year, Western offers a variety of in-person academies to high school students. These academies allow students to earn college credits while also working towards their high school diploma. This dual enrollment approach saves time and tuition. Students get hands-on learning through tours and labs, and leave with real-world skills. The academies also provide a seamless transition to Western or other colleges.
