Direct Admit Wisconsin is a program that allows eligible Wisconsin high school students to receive early admission to participating Universities of Wisconsin campuses without having to complete the traditional application process. Eligibility is based on a student’s junior-year GPA and coursework. Students who qualify receive admission offers during their senior year, giving them an early opportunity to explore their college options and plan for life after high school.
Students do not apply separately for Direct Admit Wisconsin. Eligible students are automatically considered for Direct Admit Wisconsin based on their junior-year GPA and coursework. Students and families will receive information about the program and can opt out if they do not want to participate. If you receive a Direct Admit offer, you can then review your options and decide which University of Wisconsin campus is the best fit for you.
Students who receive a Direct Admit offer will be notified through their high school email.
Important: Receiving a Direct Admit offer does not require you to attend that university, it simply gives you an early admission opportunity.
After receiving an offer, students should:
Complete the Direct Admit Form through the Universities of Wisconsin Admission Pathway Portal. This lets the universities know you are interested and is not a commitment to attend. After you submit a Direct Admit Form, the UW university you are interested in will reach out to you with more information. Be sure to check your email for updates.
Explore your admission offers and learn more about each university, including programs, scholarships, housing, and campus opportunities.
Complete the FAFSA to apply for federal and state financial aid.
Choose a university and complete that school’s enrollment steps and deadlines.
Stay on track academically and continue working toward high school graduation, since Direct Admit offers are conditional.
