The Laude System is a way Arcadia High School recognizes students for strong academic achievement at graduation. Instead of ranking students by class rank, the Laude System honors students based on their cumulative grade point average (GPA) and rigorous course work. There are three levels of recognition: Cum Laude (with honor), Magna Cum Laude (with great honor), and Summa Cum Laude (with highest honor). Each level has a specific point requirement set by the school. The number of laude points earned are multiplied by the students' cumulative GPA to determine the level of recognition. This system encourages students to focus on personal academic growth and excellence rather than competition with classmates, and it allows multiple students to earn high honors if they meet the criteria. Families can view the Laude System as a clear and fair way to celebrate students’ hard work, consistency, and commitment to academic success throughout high school.
Summa Cum Laude: 50 points or more
Magna Cum Laude: 32-49.99 points
Cum Laude: 16-31.99 points
