Lifeline

If poetry is my language 

then words are my art 

if fiction is my fantasy 

then the story is my heart. 

If the characters are my voice 

then people are my muse 

if the plot is my life 

then reality I infuse. 

If each chapter is my map 

then every page is my guide 

if the moon is my lamp 

then I write till sunrise. 

For 

Writing is the blood coursing through my veins 

Writing is the water keeping me sustained 

Writing is the wind lifting me up high 

Writing is the fire inside 

burning me alive.
