Fairy Circles

Wedged between a chain link fence

Alcoved into the pine tree the coven

Convenes. A day of gathering, sweat slick skin

And igloo cooler cokes

Grass stained bare feet lying among the

Reeds, counting ants over the knotted roots

Of a willow tree, we wait for the peanut man

The hysteria of the search

Untethered the arch bowed under the weight of

Snow, evergreen brush saturated with the freezing

Precipitation, washed of sap and pulling the fronds

Apart at the seams
