the diary of an overcritical artist

transcendent paper geese

once in the presence of a glaring red light on boathouse row

peacefully wade into territories of mauve

no rush back to the ruby rosed planet on which they were crafted

and no rush to go somewhere where they would be re-crafted again

they just float in the beauty of words left unsaid

and i envy them,

as my calloused hands fixate on minerals of sandstone and butter like bronze

and ambition begins domantly collecting in my clouded seedy eyes

the process of creation gets mythologized and reduced to its production to a legacy

reflected in the sea of poseidon and the world that boasts hades

and i sometimes sees glimpses of myself

in the transcendence of those paper geese

but like many, i too often fall victim to eating the pomegranate seeds of making art for likeability
