Term 2

Nau mai, haere mai ki ngā tamariki hou!

We are excited to welcome five new students and their whānau to the Huarapa community this week. We are so lucky to have you Briana, Isla, Phu, Emelia, and Sasha!

Week 10

Living landscapes

This week some of us have been very busy exploring our natural landscape (bug hunting) with Whaea April and Matua Lawrence. Some of us will be making a bug hotel over the next few weeks.

Other children have been exploring our worm farm, bees and making scarecrows.

Visual Arts

We have been exploring paint over the last few weeks. Here are some of our fruit paintings. These are displayed in the classroom. Some children added colourful tablecloths to the art work. The children have also been learning to blend with pastels.

Week 9

Discovery Maths

On Friday we began exploring patterns, symmetry, translation, and transformation in a range of activities. Look at our awesome learning.

Magical Blooming Flowers

This week we created paper flowers. We carefully coloured them in with felt pens, cut them out, and gently folded the petals. Ask us what happened when we placed them in water!

Week 6

Welcome back!

23 May

We have been very busy this week connecting, learning routines, playing and having fun! Click on the photos above to see what we have been doing.

During the week have also been focusing on social and emotional wellbeing. This has included lessons about feelings and emotions and ways we can be and stay well. We have a battery in our class. If our battery is empty or if things are not going well, it is more difficult to learn.

We will continue to focus on wellbeing over the next few weeks (and throughout the rest of the year). You can read about our schools Wellbeing model, Te Whare Tapa Wha - here.
