The combination of forest, mountain, river, and sea makes the Ushuaia Golf Club a very special destination.
Located next to the End of the World Train station, the Ushuaia Golf Club course is the southernmost point on the planet where the sport is played. Set in the valley of the Río Pipo and at the foot of Cerro Segui, the stunning landscape gives way to a course that offers all its charm.
The undulating terrain, with elevation changes and a winding river, creates a challenging par 70 layout, nearly 6,000 yards long.
The course begins with the first holes where the fairways are less defined, allowing shots from the tee to not be severely penalized. As the course follows the river, the fairways become narrower, demanding greater precision when using the driver.
The almost total absence of bunkers (only near the greens on holes 1 and 4) does not detract from the complexity, as the slopes, river, and strategically placed trees challenge players to avoid costly mistakes on their second shot.
The rugged look fits perfectly with the surroundings, respecting pre-existing conditions, and often does not allow the ball to be at the same level as the feet. Small, fast greens, defended by mounds or grass depressions, require precise short game play.
The complexity and condition of the course vary greatly depending on the weather, as it is common to experience all four seasons in one day. Depending on the time of year, it is possible to encounter very windy, rainy, cold days, or even snowfall (which is why the course is closed for five months a year).
