Jonathan WIJESINGHE
Jonathan Wijesinghe began his Tchoukball journey on the court as a player before stepping into a coaching role with the Sri Lanka National Team. Today, he continues to contribute to the growth and development of Tchoukball across the Asia-Pacific region.
As a qualified FITB Coaching Master Instructor, Jonathan is passionate about supporting national federations and developing young Tchoukball athletes and coaches across Asia.
He is the Founder and President of the Sri Lanka Tchoukball Association (SLTA), and he has also served on the Executive Committee of the Asia Pacific Tchoukball Federation since 2022.
Beyond sport, Jonathan brings extensive experience in leadership development, community transformation, and peacebuilding. He holds a Master of Science in Digital Marketing Communications and a BA in Social Sciences, and completed a three-month residential program in Community Transformation at the Institute for Transformational Leadership (ITL) in South Africa.
Through his vision of “Building Peace through Sports,” Jonathan promotes Tchoukball as more than a sport—a platform to connect people across cultures, communities, and backgrounds, develop young leaders, and create meaningful social impact through sport.
