12/15 - Math Unit Test and Reading Assessments
12/18 - Science Fair Idea Due

ELA - We have begun a book study on the giver where we will be practicing many different skills. We do have a focus on character perspectives and how they change the story. We will continue making inferences, having evidence based responses, summarizing and describing types of figurative language used.
Writing - We are currently practicing persuasive writing and being able to support opinions with reasons and explain, give evidence or examples of our reasons to strengthen our persuasive writing.
4th Math - 4th grade math has moved on from just learning to use partial products for multiplication into applying them with converting between measurements. We will then be beginning using partial quotients to solve larger division problems.
5th Math - 5th grade math is continuing to work with fractions, we are currently subtracting fractions after finding common denominators, and decomposing whole numbers to create improper fractions. We will wrap up with word problems that involves adding subtracting, composing, decomposing and finding common denominators for fractions.
Science - We have just begun our life science unit where we will explore food chains, food webs, and decomposers role in the environment.
