If you are planning for a year, sow rice;
if you are planning for a decade, plant trees;
if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.

Welcome to Our Classroom for Success! My name is Ms. Gina Marselle, and this is my 24th year as an educator with APS. I am highly qualified to teach Gifted Education, English Language Arts, and Visual Arts. I have taught gifted and talented education on and off since 2002. My Master's degree is in Gifted Education. Additionally, I have taught 9th, 10th, and 12th-grade ELA, Advanced Placement Literature & Composition, and College Preparatory Courses at the high school level for seven years. Lastly, I am a Mentor Teacher for the ATF/APS Mentoring Program. This is my 2nd year at Jefferson Middle School.
This year, I am delighted to continue important work here at Jefferson Middle School. Although I have mostly taught high school, I am particularly excited to be here, as my son is in 7th grade and is in the gifted program. I look forward to guiding your adolescent in meeting their goals, as well as in becoming both amazing readers, communicators, and writers. My goal as an educator is to guide students toward academic success and to help them build critical thinking skills that will allow them to blossom into adulthood for college or career readiness. Ultimately, fostering the life-long learner mentality in each student who walks through my classroom. I am excited to co-teach in the Gifted and Talented team here at Jefferson and look forward to all the amazing things we will accomplish as a team. I will do my part to inform you when students are not working to their potential and/or are involved in disruptive class behavior. I will also involve all stakeholders in IEPs. Furthermore, I am dedicated to the well-being of my students, and I need stakeholders’ cooperation in helping students reach their potential.
Please feel free to contact me by email, Marselle@aps.edu, with any concerns regarding your child's academic success. I check my email regularly and will attend to your message as soon as I am able to do so. You may also contact me by phone. Please call 505-8691 and request my classroom. I am looking forward to a splendid school year. Go Jets! See below for some photos of my personal life.
Respectfully,
Gina Marselle, M.A.Ed., CIL
I love horses, time with my family, time at home and celebrating wonderful occasions--I have a rescue horse, a rescue dog and a Service Dog that is with me most days. I love to take photographs (love to photograph my family, my animals, sunsets) and write poetry.
