Pre-Registration for 11th Grade

11th Grade Pre-Registration Presentations were provided to current CHS 10th grade students Thursday, January 23 & Friday, January 24, 2020. Mrs. Stroka met with students in E-Lecture Hall during their English 10 classes.

During the presentations, students were given:

  1. 11th grade course request cards (orange), with a copy of their updated transcript attached

    • Thursday & Friday, February 6 & 7: Course request cards are due back to students' English 10 teacher

    • Friday, February 7th: Mrs. Stroka will collect all 10th grade course request cards from 10th grade English teachers

    • Thursday & Friday, February 27 & 28: Students go to the library with their Math class to enter their course requests into the computer

  2. Career Enrichment Center (CEC) - elective course options

  3. CNM/UNM Dual Credit information (if requested by student)

    • CNM Dual-Credit Registration for CNM summer 2020 classes begins March 2, 2020 (online)

    • Current sophomores may take free CNM Dual Credit courses to earn both free college credit & high school credit - including during summer 2020

    • Information & registration for CEC elective classes is online at https://www.cnm.edu/depts/outreach/dual-credit

    • Summer 2020 CNM Classes: https://www.cnm.edu/student-resources/class-schedule

    • Students must take courses at the 1000 course level or higher to count for free high school & college dual credit

  4. Credit recovery information (if needed)

    • Core courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, PE) are required for graduation and must be re-taken during summer school or via online credit recovery. Elective courses do not need to be re-taken.

    • Sophomores must meet with Mrs. Stroka to plan and register for credit recovery.

    • Reclassified students (behind on their credits) must meet with reclassified counselor, Mrs. Lori Ryan, to plan and register for credit recovery.

    • Registration for online credit recovery (eCademy home program) is now through March 25th.

    • Registration for 2019 Summer School begins April 6th.

Students are strongly encouraged to share and discuss this information with parents/guardians, their teachers, support teachers, and advisory teachers.

Students should take their course requests cards to their student advisory meeting Wednesday, February 5th. There will be a CHS Electives Fair during advisory meeting February 5th, where students can talk with electives teachers for additional information about elective courses.
