Responsive Services: This is the section where we plan how to manage the time-sensitive needs of our seniors. How will we structure our responsive services to meet the needs of our caseload in the most efficient way? Teams need to coordinate large group, small group, and individual services in such a way that all tasks are completed on time, every student receives equitable access to services, and time is spent efficiently.
Each school's approach will vary based on their size and personnel, however, any staff member or supporting role could be eligible for the team. Counselors, social workers, school admin, instructional coaches, athletic directors/coaches, and maybe even teachers. Anyone who has contact and influence with a large group of students could be a team member.
Also if there is a particular student subgroup to meet about, someone who is connected to that subgroup should attend. Students who are English Language Learners may be a subgroup in need of additional support, as are students in foster care.
Consistently reviewing the needs of the caseload with all staff who provide responsive services is a recommended procedure. It starts with collecting and reviewing some baseline data around postsecondary intentions, then moves to progress monitoring and intervening when progress stalls.

FAFSA Support Events
One highly impactful practice is to host FAFSA support and completion events, either in the high school, the community, or both. These sessions fill the need for not only responsive services for students and parents, but also enhance the Instructional Services and Building Relationships domains of C.O.R.E. as well.
